Ingredients
1 Florida grapefruit, halved crosswise
2 tbsp Florida raw can sugar
1 small pinch sea salt
Preparation
Trim a little of the peel off the bottom of each grapefruit half to keep them sturdy. Use a paring knife, gently loosen the grapefruit segments and remove all seeds. Place the Florida grapefruit halves cut down on a few paper towels for 3 to 5 minutes to soak up excess moisture.
Turn the grapefruit halves cut side up on a fire-safe surface and discard the paper towels. Evenly sprinkle the sugar over the tops of the exposed grapefruit. Carefully use a kitchen torch to brown the sugar. Sprinkle with the sea salt and serve with Florida orange juice and cottage cheese if desired.
